Andy Morin was elected to the Folsom City Council in November 2002. He served as mayor in 2006, 2007 and 2011, and as vice mayor in 2005 and 2010. A 22-year resident of Folsom, Andy’s list of civic associations and accomplishments include serving as a Folsom Planning Commissioner, member of the Folsom Schools Bond Oversight Committee, Treasurer of the Folsom Public Library Foundation and Chair of the successful 2002 Measure C School Bond Campaign. In addition, Andy and his brother Vince currently own and operate the Susie’s Country Oaks Café Restaurants in Roseville and Granite Bay.

Born and raised in the Toledo, Ohio area, Andy moved to Oregon as a young collegian to attend Oregon State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology in 1983. He began working for the National Weather Service and was subsequently assigned to duty in the Sacramento area. Andy now works for a branch of the National Weather Service called the California-Nevada River Forecast Center as a senior hydrologist. His duties include flood and water supply forecasting along with computer system development and maintenance.

Andy married long-time Folsom resident Kathy (Engelhart) Morin in 1987 and moved to Folsom in 1988. Andy and Kathy have two sons, one a Vista del Lago graduate currently attending Folsom Lake College and the other a junior at Folsom High School.

With a commitment to open, accessible government, Andy’s priorities as a City Council member are continued economic development through a strong partnership between the City and the Folsom Chamber of Commerce, public safety, parks and recreation and maintaining a strong City infrastructure.
