The Streets Maintenance Division provides pavement condition inspection, pavement maintenance, sidewalk uplift/trip hazard repair, alley maintenance, street sweeping, weed abatement, creek and storm drain inspections and maintenance, as well as many other services, to City of Folsom residents.

The Public Works Department has maintained a Pavement Management Five Year Capital Plan (PMP) since Fiscal Year 2004. The most recent citywide pavement condition inspection was performed in 2014. City engineers, the Streets Maintenance Division and contractors have begun implementing this five year plan to maintain the City of Folsom roadways.

The Public Works Department sweeps about 420 curb miles of city streets.
The Streets Department aims to provide street sweeping to all Arterials, Collectors and Residential roadways on a Quarterly basis, at a minimum. Any special requests for street sweeping of spills or excessive debris can be made by contacting the Streets Maintenance Division at 916-355-8344.
The City of Folsom operates and maintains and extensive storm drainage system, including 190 miles of pipe, 23 miles of natural drainage channels/creeks, 30 flood control and/or water quality detention basins and over 200 outfalls to creeks/rivers. The storm drain system is operated and maintained by the Public Works Streets Division. The storm drains are inspected and cleaned between May and October of each year.
