Don't Rush to Flush

Proper disposal of unused and unwanted medications can help prevent substance abuse. As part of the Don't Rush to Flush program, unwanted and unused prescription medications can be disposed of in the green collection bin in the lobby of the Folsom Police Department, 46 Natoma Street (open weekdays, 7 a.m.- 4 p.m., excluding holidays).

Please remember the following when disposing of prescription medications at this location:

  • Remove pills from bottles and place in a plastic zipper bag;
  • Liquids and creams should remain in their original containers and placed in a plastic zipper bag;

The following items are not accepted:

  •  Syringes, including Epi-Pens 
  • Vitamins
  • Saline solution
  • Non-prescription skin creams
  • Batteries, light bulbs or hazardous waste (to properly dispose of these items, please contact Solid Waste)
