City officials invite local residents and the business community to help craft the vision that will guide Folsom’s future development by participating in a community workshop on Tuesday, April 2. The drop-in workshop runs from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Folsom Community Center, 52 Natoma St.
“Opportunities, Challenges and a Vision for the Future” will be the first of several Folsom 2035 General Plan Update community workshops. Participants will learn more about the project and have the opportunity to share comments.
“This is the first update to Folsom’s General Plan since 1988,” says Scott Johnson, planning manager. “Folsom has grown and prospered since then, evolving from a small community to a vibrant mid-sized city. As we plan for the next few decades, we must balance growth while preserving and maintaining distinctive characteristics that make our community so special. We welcome the public’s input on this important project.”
Johnson encourages interested individuals to attend the community workshop, and to also participate in the On-line Town Hall Forum at http://townhall.Folsom2035.com. Additional information about the workshop and the Folsom 2035 General Plan Update is posted on the City’s website at www.folsom.ca.us.
