Folsom's new free mobile app provides quick access to City government information via iPhone, Android or BlackBerry. Use the app to report non-public safety problems such as graffiti and pot holes, and to access information about local attractions, City programs and on-line services.
Rich Foreman, owner of Apptology, a leading mobile application development and mobile marketing company based in Folsom, offered to create an app for the City on a pro bono basis.
“We’ve been residents of Folsom for almost 10 years and we love this city,” he says. “Making the app for Folsom is our way of giving back to our community. Because of the prominence of mobile communication, we felt that our app will improve communication between the City and residents.”
City Manager Evert Palmer encourages residents to download the free mobile app to quickly access information and to share feedback as well.
“The new app is a wonderful example of how a partnership between the City and local high tech companies can benefit residents,” he says. “We are very appreciative that Rich was willing to share the talent and expertise of Apptology’s staff to help residents stay in touch with local government.”
The mobile app is available at no cost from Apple’s iTunes App store, Google Play store and Blackberry World by searching“City of Folsom”.
