Folsom Fire Chief Ron Phillips invites the community to meet on-duty fire crews and tour the main fire station during the Annual Fire Prevention/Fire Safety Open House. The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Fire Station 35, 535 Glenn Dr.
Free activities include station tours, interaction with fire crews, home exit drills, fire extinguisher training and kitchen safety tips. Volunteers from the City’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will answer questions about the importance of this program in the community.
Members of the Folsom Fire Safe Council will host a pancake breakfast as part of the open house. A donation of $7 for the pancake breakfast is requested from all those over 11 years of age.
“We look forward to this opportunity to share information and answer questions about fire prevention and home safety,” says Chief Phillips. “Last year we had a good turn-out and we hope to welcome even more families and individuals this year.”
