Folsom City Manager Evert Palmer announced the promotion of Elaine Andersen to the position of Deputy City Manager, effective immediately. Andersen previously served as Assistant to the City Manager.
“This new position recognizes Elaine’s important role in keeping our organizational machine running effectively,” said Palmer. “As Deputy City Manager, Elaine now has responsibility for strategy development and organizational oversight. Elaine has served the City with distinction for the past nine years, and I look forward to her contributions in this new role.”
Before joining the City of Folsom, Andersen worked for the City of Sacramento. She served as Special Projects Manager in the City Manager’s Office and the Department of Transportation, as well as a Media and Communications Specialist for the Public Works Department. She has also worked for the Nelson Communications Group, the State Department of Finance and the State Treasurer’s Office.
“I look forward to assisting the City Manager in serving the citizens of Folsom in this new capacity,” said Andersen. “My husband and I have lived in Folsom for over 20 years. We have built our lives here and raised our children here. It was one of the best personal and professional decisions I could have made to join the City nine years ago. It is a joy to continue to serve the City I love.”
Andersen has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
