Are you looking for a volunteer opportunity for yourself, a loved one, or a friend?
Are you a student or a Girl or Boy Scout looking for a service project?
Is your service organization looking to help make a difference in our community?
Are you intrigued with donating your time and services to City facilities like the Zoo Sanctuary, our trail system, the Senior and Public Arts Center, the library, major annual City events (fun runs, bike races, etc.), and many others?
In partnership with Hands On Sacramento and California Volunteers, the City of Folsom is now listing its volunteer opportunities on-line. First, click here (http://www.handsonsacto.org/ ) and follow these instructions:
(1) Locate the "Find Volunteer Opportunities" box at the top of the page.
(2) Enter Folsom's zip code (95630) in the zip code field.
(3) Click "Search."
You should now see not only projects within the City of Folsom organization, but also any others entered by local non-profit organizations.
Please note that the web site will require you to first register as a volunteer in order to submit your interest in a particular project. Please also note that if you are under 18 years of age, you will need to submit a youth waiver.
We’ve tried to be as detailed as possible in describing projects available. You will see if a project is oriented toward youth, seniors, arts and crafts, recreation, or other focus areas, for example. You will also see if a project is flagged as “Good for Teams” or “Good for Families.”
Most of the projects are ongoing, as we have year-round needs. Some are seasonal (like assistance with the City’s Eggstravaganza, for example). You will see about how many volunteers we typically need, and about how many hours would be helpful each week. We are generally quite flexible, so if something’s not a perfect fit, please just go ahead and submit your interest to us so that we can discuss what might work best.
Thank you for your interest in giving back to our community.
