The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) offers  rebates, special promotions and home-improvement loans to assist residential customers with energy efficiency upgrades and improvements. 

Also, through SMUD's Home Performance Program,  you can learn precisely where your home is leaking energy and how to qualify for SMUD rebates.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) offers rebates on many energy-efficient products and improvements for your home. Find out how to get rebates on your ENERGY STAR appliances here

MPOWER, or Money for Property Owner Water and Energy Efficiency Retrofitting, is a program offered by the City of Folsom that can help you finance energy efficiency improvements and energy generation systems with no upfront cost. The financed amount is amortized and the annual amount due is added to your property tax bill each year until paid in full. If the property is sold the equipment and unpaid amount stay with the property.

ENERGY STAR is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency voluntary program that helps individuals save money and protect our climate through superior energy efficiency.

To encourage customers to buy energy efficient products, ENERGY STAR partners occasionally sponsor special offers, such as sales tax exemptions or credits, or rebates on qualified products.  Use THIS TOOL to find out if there are any special offers or rebates currently available on ENERGY STAR qualified products in the Folsom area.

California Home Finance Authority

 

The California Home Finance Authority (CHF) offers competitive loan financing for energy efficiency upgrades through their Energy Retrofit Program. Eligible homeowners can apply for a 6.5% fixed interest rate loan, resulting in up to $50,000 in energy efficiency home improvements. To learn more and apply, click here.

Federal Energy Efficiency Loan Programs

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) offers a program to homebuyers who wish to purchase an older home that needs renovation and have plans to perform energy upgrades on it.  Applicants may receive energy efficiency mortgages financed by the HUD’s Federal Home Assistance Program.  In addition, through this program, borrowers have the option to wrap cost of repairs and improvements into a single mortgage payment.
