The Housing Element, a mandatory General Plan Element, includes policies that guide the development of Housing in the City, including housing for a variety of affordability levels and specific housing needs.

The Housing Element requires review from the State of California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). The Housing Element is required to be certified by HCD by October 2013.

The Housing Element is part of the City's General Plan that includes policies that regulate and encourage a variety of housing types.  The Housing Element is a mandatory General Plan Element that requires review and approval from the State of Housing and Community Development (HCD). The Housing Element was last updated and approved in 2009.
