Does the library have computers I can use?
The library has multiple computer workstations equipped with Microsoft Office, Internet access, and electronic databases. Microsoft Office 2010 products include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Access. The electronic databases may also be accessed remotely.

Computer logon and reservations are self-serve using your library card or a guest pass. Workstations may be reserved ahead of time from within the library, up to one week in advance. No phone or online reservations are accepted.  

Patrons have the ability to print from all workstations. 
Black & White - $.15 per page 
Color prints - $.50 per page

Wi-Fi Access is available for wireless equipped laptops.
How can I recommend a purchase for the collection?

How do I get a library card for myself or my child?
Any California resident 18 and over may obtain a library card. Simply bring your picture ID with current address and completed card application to the check-out desk at the library. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian providing the same ID as above.

I have a Sacramento Public Library card.  Can I use it at the Folsom Public Library?
Yes, no new card is issued.  Materials borrowed at the Folsom Pubic Library may be returned at any Sacramento Library branch.  

Cards from Sutter County, Woodland and Colusa Public Libraries and their branches are also accepted.  Materials borrowed at these other libraries may be returned to the Folsom Public Library.
Does the library hold used book sales?
The Friends of the Folsom Public Library sponsor the BOOKWORM BOOKtique in the library building at 411 Stafford St.

The BOOKtique sells like new or gently used donated books including fiction, nonfiction, biographies, children’s books, music CDs, cookbooks and paperbacks.  New items include handmade greeting cards, book bags, aprons and gift cards.


Proceeds from the BOOKtique support the library's Summer Reading Program for all ages, as well as cultural and educational programs.

BOOKtique hours:Tuesday - Saturday: 11:00am - 4:00pm 
Sunday: 12:00pm - 4:00pm

How long am I allowed to keep materials before I have to return them?
Most materials check out for a loan period of 21 days.  Our Book Club in a Bag kits check out for 6 weeks.

How many items can I check out on my library card?

Library patrons may borrow up to 50 items on their account at any given time.  Within this limit, patrons may have up to 10 DVDs, 1 Story Express Kit, and 2 Book Club in a Bags.

What are the hours for the library?
Monday:  Closed
Tues. & Wed.:  10am - 8pm
Thur., Fri., & Sat.:  10am - 5pm
Sun.: 12pm - 5pm
The Library is closed on major holidays.
