Call for Artists:

The City of Folsom is now accepting submissions for the new Fine Arts Gallery @ 48 Natoma. This exciting fine arts exhibition program will provide community access to a wide variety of art by regional and national artists, area museum collections as well as traveling national exhibitions. The gallery will open in May of 2007 and will keep ongoing artist’s files for future exhibition consideration. Commission Members: Chair Stephen Heard, Vice Chair Paige Edmondson, Pat Finnegan, Barbara Otey, Mary Sundermeir, David Burrell, Karena Moy

The Folsom Arts and Cultural Committee (FACC) began in 1996 by a group of concerned citizens who felt that the expansion of arts and cultural activities would benefit the residents of Folsom. FACC is an advisory body comprised of seven members appointed by the Mayor and City Council. FACC meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month in the City Council Chambers at the Folsom City Hall. The public is welcome to attend FACC meetings.

FACC projects include: the Arts and Cultural Survey, Arts and Cultural Excursions, Cultural Arts Grant Administration, Logo Contest, Sesquicentennial Mural Project, Sesquicentennial Gold Rush Camp Town Special Event, Arts And Cultural Master Plan, Art in the Mayor’s office, utility bill donations, and October is Arts and Humanities Month.

The Folsom Parks and Recreation Department provides staff assistance to FACC and you may reach FACC at (916) 355-7285.

Folsom Patron of the Arts

The mission of this non-profit organization is to promote the development of arts, cultural programs, local artists and arts educational activities and to support the Folsom Arts and Cultural Committee and enrich the quality of life in Folsom. Public participation is highly desired! The Patrons are currently working on the annual publication of the Arts and Cultural Resource Directory, October is Arts and Humanities month, and public arts projects.
