ZAP - Zoo Ambassador Program
Interested in learning what it's like to be a zookeeper?  Join the Zoo Ambassador Program (ZAP).  Each day the ZAP class will be assigned an animal to care for.  Learn fascinating facts about the animals such as their diets, behaviors and habitats; provide enrichment for the animals; and enjoy special behind-the-scenes opportunities while maintaining animal enclosures.  Diets will be created and fed to the animals.  Finish with craft projects for the animals or animal socialization.  A rare opportunity to be up close and personal with zoo animals!  Contact Karrie for more information.

Art with Animals

Using their paws and non-toxic paints, zoo animals enjoy creating beautiful artwork, and now you can be part of the experience!  Join a zookeeper as an animal artist paints a special one-of-a-kind creation just for you!   For $150 you can choose your artist, up to three colors and come to the zoo to photograph, take video or just hang out and watch, while your painting is created!  Don't have time to come watch?  We'd be happy to customize it for you.  Just choose your animal artist and up to three colors for $100.

Featured Artists: Bears, Cougars, Wolves*, Tigers* To schedule a painting session, email Amy at avandermolen@folsom.ca.us or call the zoo at (916) 351-3527 and leave a message for Amy.  Additional animal artists include Ferret, Rabbit, Squirrel and many more! All proceeds go to improve the lives of the animals at the zoo. *Some restrictions apply (ie: certain exhibits do not have areas to paint during inclement weather.) Must schedule at least 2 weeks in advance.

Birthday Parties at the Zoo

Create lasting memories for your child with a party held on the Canine Patio looking out into the coyote exhibit at the zoo.  Six zoo deer and two Zebu are only inches away on the other side of the fence.  Available weekends.  Call 916 496-0045 to reserve.  Advance reservations are required.  Parties include: Canine Patio rental for two hours for up to 30 people.  Tables and chairs.  Fifteen minute animal presentation with one of the zoo's outreach animals and arts and crafts project.  Includes zoo entry for up to 30 people.
Fee: $224/additional guests: $4 / each.

Breakfast with the Bears!
Enjoy a private rental on the bear deck in the morning before the zoo is open to the public.  You bring breakfast for you and your guests, we'll provide the bears!  Sit with your friends just inches away from our black bears and watch them forage for their breakfast on the other side of our glass wall.  Rental includes 30 minute behind the scenes tour of the bear exhibit.  Excellent photo opportunites.
Available 8.30-10.30am.
$249 includes tables and chairs for up to 20 people.  (you supply your own food)

Fisher's Beastro Now Open!
Located in front of the Zoo's main entry gates proceeds help support the Zoo.  Grab a quick snack, beverage, or a full lunch.  Picnic tables and restroom facilities located nearby.

LOW COST RABIES AND MICROCHIP CLINIC Held once every month, 6.00-8.00pm on the fourth WEDNESDAY.  No class November/December Folsom City Lions Park.  Upcoming dates:  May 23, June 27, July 25, Aug 22  Please - Dogs on leashes / Cats in carriers Information: (916) 439-2268 CHIP IN for your pet's ticket home - Pet ID tags, licenses and Microchips help lost pets find their way home.
