Historic Sutter Street Revitalization Project
This exciting community-driven Revitalization Project is the result of more than four years of collaboration and hard work by Historic District merchants and residents, City officials and historic preservationists. Project elements include:

Repair of aging water and sewer infrastructure

Improved access for people with disabilities

Removal of the center medians
-
Addition of more than 100 beautiful shade trees (Chinese Pistache, Ornamental Pear, Maple, Valley Oak and others)

Creation of on-street parking and short-term delivery areas
-
Widening sidewalks to accommodate shoppers and outdoor eating areas
-
Removal of monolithic shed roofs and addition of new facades and canopies

Addition of bicycle racks and benches
The City Council awarded a construction contract to Teichert Construction on Jan. 12, 2010. The project was completed in May 2011.
