We hope that our website will make it easier to safely dispose of or avoid hazardous materials in your homes. Feel free to e-mail or call us with your comments about our Web information.  Our service recycles most types of HHW (such as motor oil, paint, stains, poisons, and TV sets) through individual appointments. We even collect the more difficult-to-handle HHW such as pesticides, corrosive cleaners and pool chemicals. Individual appointments can be scheduled online. In addition to HHW disposal, your Hazardous Materials Division provides  services to reduce the number of hypodermic needles in the waste stream (see Sharps Program) and a program to reduce the discharge of motor oil from boat bilges into Folsom Lake (see Clean Boating).
