The ongoing drought is proving to be one of the most severe in California’s history. The City of Folsom is taking action to reduce water use and help residents and businesses conserve.

Sacramento SPCA to Serve as Folsom’s New Animal Shelter
As of July 1, the Sacramento SPCA will serve as the new animal shelter for the City of Folsom. The SPCA shelter, located at 6201 Florin Perkins Road, will handle the boarding and caring for any stray dogs, cats or other pets found in Folsom. Folsom residents will also have access to the SPCA’s shelter programs, including pet adoptions and a low-cost spay-neuter clinic.

2015 Community Service Day
The community is coming together again September 19 to plan the second annual Community Service Day event— Folsom’s largest day of volunteerism. Community Service Day mobilizes hundreds of volunteers of all ages and interests to complete projects throughout Folsom that will have a lasting impact in the community. Sponsorship and donation opportunities are available, and volunteer projects will be announced in July.
