Get ready to read! The Folsom Public Library is launching the summer reading program on Saturday, May 27 with a fun-filled event for the whole family from 10 a.m. to noon. Activities include carnival games, an obstacle course, art activities and a storytime. The summer reading program is simple: Read books and earn prizes! Program registration begins May 27 and continues through July 31.
Reading during the summer helps maintain and reinforce the reading skills students learned during the school year. Kids and teens who read five books will receive a free book, and those who keep reading and playing will get a reusable book bag and multiple entries into a drawing for a $100 Barnes and Noble gift card. Adults completing the five book challenge are also eligible to earn entry into the drawing and will win a free book bag.
