As temperatures rise, Folsom’s lakes, river, and pools are popular destinations for outdoor fun. If you’re heading to the water this summer, keep these boating and water safety tips in mind.
Everyone should wear a life jacket. Whether you are fishing, boating, swimming or just wading, a properly-fitted life jacket is a must (and is the law for children under the age of 13 who are on a moving recreational vessel).
Learn how to swim. Even with life jackets, it is important to know how to swim.
Never use rope swings or jump off of bridges. No matter how deep the water is, these activities can result in critical injuries or death.
Watch children at all times. Never leave a child unattended near the water or a pool.
