Folsom Community Development Director Named

Folsom City Manager Evert Palmer announced today Pam Johns has been selected as the City’s Community Development Director effective September 6.

A well-known professional planning veteran, Johns brings more than 25 years of public and private sector experience to the City of Folsom’s Community Development Department, where she began her career in city government in 1993. 

Johns currently leads the planning practice for the west region as an associate vice president at Michael Baker International (previously Pacific Municipal Consultants), a global engineering and planning firm. Johns has managed staff, business operations, and client projects throughout California and the western United States for Michael Baker International for 16 years. Her projects include the Chico General Plan Update, Santa Rosa North Station Area Plan, and San Luis Obispo Downtown Plan Update. 

“Pam joins our administration with unmatched experience in community planning, urban design, and community engagement,” said City Manager Evert Palmer. “Pam’s highly-respected leadership skills, insight, and institutional knowledge will be an excellent addition to Folsom’s strong executive team.”

Johns will be charged with managing the operations of the Community Development Department, and will oversee planning, engineering, and building safety operations. She will manage current and future development initiatives, and serve as an advisor to the Folsom Planning Commission.
