FOLSOM, CA- Firefighters from the City of Folsom Fire Department and Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire located on Woodview Drive. A total of four engine companies, two truck companies, one medic unit, and two chief officers were dispatched to the scene.
The initial call came from a private fire alarm monitoring company that received a fire alarm activation. Soon after, a 911 call came from the residence reporting a kitchen fire. Occupants were alerted to the fire and able to escape by functioning smoke detectors. Folsom Firefighters arrived to the address approximately seven minutes after receiving the first 9-1-1 call. Crews encountered a two-story home that was filled with smoke and limited visibility. Crews initiated an aggressive fire attack, searched the home for any victims, checked the home for fire extension, and controlled the fire within five minutes. The majority of the fire damage was contained to the kitchen area only. Crews remained on scene for approximately three hours to ensure all remaining hot spots were extinguished.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental. There was one minor injury to the homeowner who refused any medical assessment or treatments
