Structure Fire

FOLSOM, CA- Firefighters from the City of Folsom Fire Department, Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Protection District, and El Dorado Hills Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire located in the 1500 block of Bonanza Lane.  A total of four engine companies, two truck companies, one medic unit, and two chief officers were dispatched to the scene.

The initial call came from 911 reporting flames visible on the side of a home.  Occupants were alerted to the fire and able to escape by functioning smoke detectors.  When Folsom Firefighters arrived at the address, there was a two-story residence with zero lot line exposures on each side.  An active fire was seen between two homes and in the dining room of one of the homes.  Crews initiated an aggressive fire attack, searched both homes for any victims, checked for fire extension, and controlled the fire within ten minutes.   The majority of the fire damage was contained to the exterior of the two homes with water damage to both homes from residential fire sprinkler activations.  Crews remained on scene for approximately three hours to ensure all remaining hot spots were extinguished and salvaging personal belongings.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.  There were no injuries as a result of this fire.
