Structure Fire

FOLSOM, CA- Firefighters from the City of Folsom Fire Department, Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Protection District, and El Dorado Hills Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire located in the 2000 block of Stockman Circle.  A total of four engine companies, two truck companies, one medic unit, and two chief officers were dispatched to the scene.  Two engine companies were canceled prior to their arrival.

The initial call came from 911 reporting a garage fire at the residence.  Occupants were alerted to the fire and attempted to extinguish the flames with a garden hose.  When Folsom Firefighters arrived at the address, there was a single story residence with smoke coming from the partially open roll-up garage door.  Crews quickly initiated an aggressive fire attack, searched the home for any victims, checked for fire extension, and controlled the fire within nine minutes.  The fire was confined to the garage area.

Crews remained on scene for approximately two hours to ensure all remaining hot spots were extinguished and smoke was removed from the residence.

The cause of the fire was determined to be a candle.

There were no injuries as a result of this fire.
