The Citizen's Academy is an educational program designed to create a greater understanding and trust between public safety agencies and Folsom residents. The Academy is also a required basic training program for the CAPS (Citizens Assisting Public Safety) volunteer program.
Police topics include use of force, CSI, identify theft, 9-1-1 reporting, traffic safety, SWAT, narcotics, domestic violence and K-9 and mounted demonstrations. Fire topics include emergency medical service and disaster prepareness. Additional topics include code enforcement, water management, and Parks & Recreation.
Class begin March 12 and are held for 11 consecutive weeks on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m.
Applications are required and class size is limited. Pick up your application at the Folsom Police Department, 46 Natoma St. Applications must be submitted by Friday, Feb. 21.
