The Folsom City Council is seeking applications from individuals interested in serving on an 11-member Historic District Parking Solutions Ad Hoc Committee. The Committee will explore possible solutions to alleviate traffic and parking concerns in the residential portions of the Historic District.

Beginning Monday, April 22, a railroad crossing replacement project will require a full 10-day closure of Iron Point Road between East Bidwell Street and Cavitt Road to replace the existing deteriorated railroad tracks and drain pipes. Iron Point Road will be closed to vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic for 24 hours a day. All traffic will be detoured to Broadstone Parkway. Vista del Lago High School continues to experience its largest student enrollment since it opened more than a decade ago. The Folsom Cordova Unified School District Board of Education has taken steps to manage school capacity for the upcoming 2019-20 school year, and the district will engage the community in the coming months to review school boundaries to help permanently alleviate overcrowding.

The California Association of Park and Recreation Commissioners & Board Members recognized Folsom Parks & Recreation with an Achievement Award for the department’s Renovation Master Plan.
