Crews continue progress on a city water infrastructure improvement project. Exploratory work will take place near Willow Creek Bridge along Oak Avenue Parkway through Friday, April 18. A second construction team is also advancing along the main pipeline route on Oak Avenue Parkway towards Blue Ravine Road.
Night work is scheduled from Sunday, April 13 through Thursday, April 17 to minimize daytime traffic impacts. Residents near Blue Ravine Road—including Peterson Place Apartments, Humbug Creek Court, Haskins Circle, and Garrett Way—may notice increased nighttime activity as crews complete critical work in the intersection.
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times. Electronic message boards and detour signage will be installed at least 72 hours in advance to alert drivers of construction impacts. The city is coordinating closely with public safety teams to ensure that traffic patterns remain safe and efficient throughout the project.
This critical infrastructure project will improve water system reliability and serve more than 25,000 water connections. It includes a new 24-inch pipeline stretching from East Bidwell Street and Iron Point Road to the Water Treatment Plant on Natoma Street.
