Properly Dispose of Household Batteries

Post Date:04/22/2025 8:17 a.m.

Don’t toss used batteries in your curbside bins. Recycle them safely at drop-off locations throughout Folsom.

All types of household batteries are considered hazardous waste and must be disposed of properly. It’s not just safer for our environment and waste collection crews—it’s also required by state law.

Look for the battery recycling bin at these Folsom locations:

  • American River Ace Hardware
  • Best Buy – container located at the store entrance
  • Folsom City Hall, 50 Natoma Street – container in the main lobby
  • Folsom Public Library – container at the front desk
  • Home Depot – rechargeable batteries only
  • Lowe’s Home Improvement
  • Raley’s, 715 East Bidwell Street
  • Walmart – container located at the store entrance
  • WinCo Foods – container at the front desk

You can also use the City of Folsom’s household hazardous waste collection service, included at no additional cost with your regular waste services.
