The City of Folsom will begin public discussions about water and sewer rates at the Tuesday, October 21 Utility Commission meeting. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Folsom City Hall, 50 Natoma Street. The water and sewer rate study will prepare five- and ten-year financial models to evaluate operations and maintenance needs, capital improvements, and revenue requirements. A consultant team will conduct a cost-of-service analysis to evaluate how water and sewer system costs are allocated across customer classes and between fixed and volumetric charges. Following the analysis, the consultant team will provide recommendations for potential changes to the city’s current rate structure. These recommendations are expected to be presented to the Folsom City Council in summer 2026, at which time the Council will provide direction on next steps.
