Temporary Closure of Iron Point Road for Folsom Water Infrastructure Project

Post Date:10/28/2025 11:44 a.m.

The City of Folsom will close Iron Point Road between East Bidwell Street and Cavitt Drive for five days to complete work on the Folsom Water Infrastructure Project. The closure is planned for 9 p.m. on November 2 through November 7.

Crews will install a new water pipeline across Iron Point Road, and the closure will allow crews to safely and efficiently complete this portion of the project.

The full closure will be in place 24 hours a day for an expected five consecutive days. Detour routes will direct traffic around the closure via Broadstone Parkway and Cavitt Drive. Drivers should expect delays through the area and use alternative routes when possible.

The Folsom Water Improvement Project will construct a new pipeline from East Bidwell Street and Iron Point Road, extending north toward the City of Folsom Water Treatment Plant on Natoma Street. The project will enhance water service reliability and support the city’s long-term water supply needs, as outlined in the Water Master Plan and Urban Water Management Plan. Funding comes from Community Facilities District No. 18, with no cost to properties north of Highway 50.
