The City of Folsom is advancing a major trail connection that will link Folsom Ranch to the city’s central trail network for the first time. The new Highway 50 trail undercrossing will create a continuous north–south route, closing one of the region’s most significant trail gaps and improving access for people walking and biking throughout Folsom and the greater Sacramento area.
Located parallel to Placerville Road, the undercrossing will connect directly to existing Class I trails on both sides of Highway 50. This connection will strengthen regional mobility, support safe active transportation, and expand recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.
The Folsom City Council approved a $497,312 design contract with Wood Rodgers to begin the project. Overall construction is estimated at about $2.2 million and supported in part by an active transportation grant.
