Residential Structure Fire

On April 5, 2026, the Folsom Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire near the intersection of Dean Way and Stafford Street. The Sacramento Regional Fire Emergency Communication Center (SRFECC) dispatched the assignment, which the first engine arrived in under 4 minutes. 

Engine 35 was the first unit to arrive on the scene, reporting a duplex with an exterior fire that had extended into the attic. Crews immediately initiated an aggressive offensive attack, simultaneously battling the flames from both the interior and exterior of the building. 

Firefighters gained access to both living units of the duplex to perform thorough primary and secondary searches. Due to the quick actions of crews, the fire was brought under control within 15 minutes. While the fire caused damage to the attic, the living spaces were successfully saved, allowing residents to retrieve their personal belongings.

A total of 15 individuals have been displaced as a result of the incident. The American Red Cross responded to the scene and is currently providing assistance to all affected residents.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by Folsom Fire Arson investigators.  Metro Fire, SMUD, and PG&E assisted in the emergency response.
