The City of Folsom proudly recognized Sgt. Tyler Vargas-Andrews during a special event on April 11, announcing that a street in Folsom Ranch will be named in his honor: Vargas-Andrews Way.
A Folsom High School graduate and United States Marine, Sgt. Vargas-Andrews demonstrated extraordinary courage during evacuation operations in Kabul on August 26, 2021, helping protect hundreds of American citizens and allies. He was awarded the Silver Star for his valor in combat.
Despite life-altering injuries, he continues to serve, advocating for veterans, supporting military families, and inspiring others through his resilience.
Located on a prominent street near a future elementary school and city park, Vargas-Andrews Way will serve as a lasting tribute to his service and sacrifice.
The City of Folsom thanks Toll Brothers, Blue Star Moms, and all who helped make this meaningful recognition possible.
