Folsom’s streets are getting proactive care to keep them in good condition and extend their lifespan.

Over the past few months, the City’s Street Division has completed crack sealing on 23.5 lane miles of roadway. This preventive maintenance helps protect pavement by sealing small cracks before they expand, reducing the need for more costly repairs down the road.

Work has been concentrated in areas including Empire Ranch and surrounding neighborhoods, with crews making steady progress across the community. 

Crack sealing is a key part of the city’s “fix it first” approach to maintaining infrastructure, addressing issues early to preserve road quality, improve safety, and maximize public investment. Additional street maintenance is on the way, including slurry seal treatments in the coming months.
