Organized Retail Theft Investigation

In early April 2026, the Folsom Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit uncovered an organized retail theft scheme involving two employees at the Folsom Walmart. Investigators linked the pair to 21 incidents, with losses exceeding $21,000.

On April 16, detectives arrested both individuals during their shifts and served search warrants at their residence and vehicles. More than $28,000 in stolen merchandise was recovered and returned.

Both suspects were booked into the Sacramento County Jail on multiple felony charges. The Folsom Police Department remains committed to protecting local businesses and holding offenders accountable.

Robbery Arrest

On April 23, just before 4 p.m., Folsom Police officers responded to a reported robbery at the Folsom Premium Outlets. An employee reported being assaulted and threatened before the suspect fled in a white SUV.

Within 10 minutes, officers located the vehicle near Folsom Boulevard and Hazel Avenue in Rancho Cordova and safely detained the suspect. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of stolen items and additional merchandise valued at more than $2,600.

The suspect was also linked to two prior thefts in Folsom. Justin Stevens, 34, of Sacramento, was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Jail on multiple charges.
