On May 1, concerned community members reported a suspected impaired driver near Iron Point Road and Grover Road. Folsom Police officers quickly located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
Following field sobriety tests and a preliminary alcohol screening, the driver’s blood alcohol concentration was measured at 0.349%, more than four times the legal limit. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
This incident also serves as an important reminder: never drink and drive. Impaired driving puts drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and others on the road at risk. If alcohol is involved, plan ahead with a sober driver, rideshare, taxi, or other safe transportation option. One responsible decision can save lives.
The Folsom Police Department thanks the residents who reported the incident. Community awareness and timely reporting play an important role in helping keep Folsom safe.
