Folsom Public Library Roof Replacement Moves Ahead

Post Date:05/22/2026 3:31 p.m.

The Folsom Public Library is getting a new roof to help protect one of the city’s busiest public facilities.

At its May 12 meeting, the Folsom City Council approved a contract with Michael Roberts Construction Inc. for the project, with a total authorized amount not to exceed $948,044. The library opened in 2007 and still has its original low-slope roof. Recent inspections found areas of deterioration, and replacement will help prevent future moisture and structural issues.

The project will be funded through the city’s Facilities Rehabilitation Fund, where funding has already been budgeted for the work. The final bid came in significantly lower than early estimates, saving the city nearly $480,000 through the competitive bidding process.
