Post Date:06/29/2026 2:54 p.m.

Following a few simple precautions can help prevent injuries, fires, and property damage during the Fourth of July holiday.

  • Only purchase “Safe and Sane” fireworks that display the California State Fire Marshal’s seal.
  • Store fireworks in a cool, dry place.
  • Always read and follow the directions and warning labels before use.
  • If a firework is not marked with instructions and a warning label, do not light it.
  • Only use legal fireworks outdoors in a clear area away from homes, dry vegetation, vehicles, and other flammable materials.
  • Always supervise children around fireworks.
  • Never attempt to relight or handle malfunctioning fireworks.
  • Keep a bucket of water, garden hose, or fire extinguisher nearby and know how to use it properly.
  • Fireworks are prohibited on all city-owned property and in city parks, except in the Lembi Community Park parking lot.
  • The use of fireworks on all trails and open space areas within the City of Folsom is prohibited.
