The City of Folsom will begin replacing approximately 3,000 aging residential water meters throughout the community beginning the week of July 20. The project will improve the reliability and accuracy of the City's water system and is expected to continue through January 2027.

Water meter replacements will be completed by Phoenix Water Solutions, a contractor working on behalf of the City of Folsom.

During replacement, customers can expect a temporary water service interruption of approximately one hour. Most work can be completed from outside the home, and contractor personnel will carry company identification if access to private property is needed.

If water appears discolored or contains air after service is restored, simply run cold water from an outdoor faucet or bathtub for one to three minutes until the water runs clear.
