Prairie City Road is closed between U.S. Highway 50 and White Rock Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday while pavement repairs are underway. The road remains open overnight and on weekends. The project is on schedule for completion, and the road will fully reopen at 5 p.m. Monday, August 31.

Through a partnership between the Sacramento County Department of Transportation and the City of Folsom Public Works Department, crews are grinding down and repaving portions of Prairie City Road. The middle section of the corridor is receiving critical pavement patches and repairs.

The middle section is planned for full reconstruction and realignment as part of future development. The current repairs will address the most critical pavement needs until full reconstruction begins.

Drivers traveling on Highway 50 should use the East Bidwell Street exit and follow posted detour signs. Motorists should plan ahead and allow additional travel time.
