Fire Chief Jason Solak brings more than 30 years of fire service and leadership experience to the City of Folsom. He was appointed Fire Chief on March 1, 2026.

Before joining the Folsom Fire Department, Solak spent 25 years with the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department, where he served as Deputy Fire Chief overseeing operations, training, and emergency response readiness. His earlier career includes service with the U.S. Forest Service, Rocklin Fire Department, and Benicia Fire Department.

Since 2003, Solak has also served as a Task Force Leader and Heavy Rigging Specialist with FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Team California Task Force 4, deploying nationwide to support major disaster recovery efforts. In addition, he is an adjunct instructor at Las Positas College and a Registered Instructor with the State of California in multiple fire and rescue disciplines.

A Folsom resident since 2001, Solak and his wife, Dawn, make their home in the Empire Ranch neighborhood. They have two college-aged children, Jake and Brianna.
