Adam Green was appointed police chief of the City of Folsom in December 2025, bringing more than 24 years of law enforcement experience, executive leadership, and public safety expertise to the role.
He joins the City of Folsom following a distinguished career with the Sacramento Police Department, where he most recently served as deputy chief. During his tenure with the department, Green advanced through every rank and served in a wide range of operational, investigative, and specialized service assignments. As deputy chief, he oversaw citywide police operations, specialized services, and investigations. His responsibilities included guiding multimillion-dollar budgets, leading organizational restructuring efforts, strengthening federal and regional partnerships, and expanding domestic violence response and community engagement initiatives.
Green earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from California State University, Sacramento, and a master’s degree in emergency services administration from California State University, Long Beach. His executive education includes completion of the Major City Chiefs Police Executive Leadership Institute, the California Police Chiefs Association Executive Leadership Institute at Claremont Graduate University, the POST Executive Development Course, and the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute, along with multiple POST leadership and management programs.
As police chief, Green leads the department’s 125 employees and a dedicated corps of 50 volunteers. He oversees all Police Department programs and services and champions a culture grounded in community-oriented policing, engagement, accountability, and employee wellness.
He is honored to serve alongside the men and women of the Folsom Police Department and is committed to protecting public safety while strengthening community trust through transparent, strategic, and accountable policing.
