To ensure emergency notices are received quickly both at work and home, residents are encouraged to log onto the Sacramento Alert (Reverse 9-1-1) Self-Registration Portal below. Personal cell phones are called back only if they are registered with the Reverse 9-1-1 System that serves the city or area where the emergency occurs.
Residents will only receive alerts that are critical and time-sensitive, including wildfires, flooding, levee failures, severe weather, disaster events, unexpected road closures, missing persons, and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods in specific geographic locations.
Keep in mind that calls from landline phones are connected directly to the Folsom Police Department and calls from cell phones are connected directly to the California Highway Patrol. Because the exact location of a cell phone is unknown, it is important to register your cell phone with Sacramento Alert and Nixle. Landlines are automatically registered and their location is known.
