Curbside Pick-up and Drop-off

Beginning Tuesday, May 26, curbside library item pick-up and drop-off services will be available at the Folsom Public Library Tuesday through Saturday by appointment only. After being notified that your holds are ready, please call 916-461-6137 or email to schedule your pick-up or drop-off time.

The City of Folsom is asking patrons to please wear a mask when using City facilities; social distancing guidelines will be in place. Staff will provide further direction upon your arrival. 

Precautions are being taken for the safety of our staff and our patrons. All items available for checkout have not been used by another patron for a minimum of three days to ensure no transmissible germs will put staff or residents at risk. Items returned curbside will remain checked out on your account for at least three days. No fines are currently accruing on checked out items. Outdoor book return boxes remain closed.

Frequently asked Questions

How does curbside pick-up work?

If a Folsom patron has an item ready for pick-up, they will be notified by email or phone that their hold is available for pick-up by appointment. Upon notification, patrons contact the library to schedule an appointment. At the scheduled pick-up time, patrons will park in designated parking areas and follow signage instructions to pick up their holds. All items will be checked out to patrons in advance and will have a due date 6 weeks out.

What days will curbside service be available?

Curbside pick-up will be Tuesday through Saturday.

What happens if I miss my scheduled appointment?

Call 916-461-6137 or email to reschedule your pick-up.

What should I do if I have mobility issues and cannot exit my vehicle to retrieve my holds?

Let staff know your requirements at the time you make your appointment. They will advise you on what to do when you arrive.

How do I return items?

Patrons can return library materials curbside in the designated receptacle 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The book drops will not be open. Please note that your items will be quarantined and not checked in immediately. It may take up to a week to have them clear from your account.

How do I place an item on hold?

Visit the Folsom Public Library website. Click on “My Account” and log in using your library card number and your PIN. The “Search” bar is in the upper left corner. Type in the title you are searching for; the “Place Hold” button is on the right.

Returning Zip Books

If you are returning Zip Books please indicate that they are Zip Books with a note or notify staff in person.

Can I drop off donated material?

No, the library is not accepting donations at present.
