The CAVE offers supervised recreational activities as an excellent after-school alternative for middle school children (6th-8th graders attending each middle school) who might otherwise be home alone at the end of their school day. Our Recreation Leaders engage the teens in activities that include pool, ping-pong, video games, movies, outdoor sports, and more. The CAVE also provides a reference library for those students wanting to work on their daily homework.
There is a CAVE Teen Center on both middle school campuses: The CAVE at Folsom Middle School (Blue Ravine Campus) is in Room 124, a triple-wide portable behind the two-story; the CAVE at Sutter Middle School (Riley Street Campus) is in Room S-3 on the Persifer Street side of campus.
Students who attend must complete the application packet. Packets are available at the Folsom Parks & Recreation Department, at each CAVE site, or at the middle school office locations. There is no monthly tuition fee to attend the CAVE program, however, there is an annual $200 administrative fee due at the time of registration.
Hours of operation:
Both CAVE sites are open Monday through Thursday from the close of school until 6 p.m., and Friday from the close of school until 5:30 p.m. (including all early dismissal days).
CAVE phone numbers:
