Patrol Operations

The officers of the Folsom Police Department Patrol Operations Bureau provide the initial response to requests for law enforcement assistance from the community and provide a visible, uniformed presence thus increasing the safety and security of residents, business and visitors.

Patrol Operations Bureau consists of:

  • A Division Commander.
  • Three Lieutenants.
  • Seven Sergeants.
  • 45 patrol officers.
  • One community service officer.

Patrol officers staff a five-beat system designed to spread officers throughout the city and reduce response times. The officers work the same beat on a continuous basis so they become familiar with that specific area of the city and all of the crime patterns occurring in their beat.

Patrol officers perform community policing in its purest form by following the philosophy of the department’s mission statement in serving with purpose by relentlessly pursuing criminal behavior and by proactively fostering positive relationships.

Officers patrol in vehicles and on foot, bicycle and horseback in parks, businesses, apartment complexes and other areas of the city when the need is identified.

The men and women of the Patrol Operations Bureau take great pride in being accountable to one another and the community while holding sacred the public trust in all that they do. We believe it is a duty to serve and an honor to protect.
