Business Cardboard & Mixed Recycling Collection Service
The City offers low or no cost solutions for businesses to recycle their cardboard and mixed recyclables. Recycling bins are available at reduced rates, which may lower the business's overall disposal cost. Service levels can be provided based on the needs of the business. Office-style containers and start-up bags are available at no cost.
Small volume customers can also participate in Folsom's SmartBiz Program at no cost. SmartBiz is a convenient program where businesses can take their recyclables to one of the City's 24-hour drop-off locations. California's Business & Multi-family Recycling Law (AB341)
California Assembly Bill 341 requires that all businesses that generate four or more cubic yards of waste per week must have established a recycling program by July 1, 2012. The law applies to a variety of businesses and entities including strip malls, government offices, schools, non-profits, and others. Under the law, the City is required to notify and monitor businesses to ensure they are complying with the law and provide outreach and education.
