Fee Increase on July 1, 2025

The City of Folsom Community Development Department implemented fee increases on July 1, 2025, for the following:

Planning Fee Restructuring and Increase: Per a Fee Study conducted in the past year to account for current costs of services, Planning has restructured and increased fees associated with entitlements such as design reviews, use permits, zone changes, etc. as well as appeals. In addition, minor modifications were made to Engineering and Arborist fees (i.e. tree permits).  City Council adopted the revised fee schedule on April 22, 2025.

Folsom Plan Area Impact Fee Increase July 1: Impact fees affecting all new construction projects south of Highway 50, increased on average at 2.50%.

North of 50 Impact Fee Increase July 1: Impact fees affecting all new construction projects north of Highway 50, increased on average, per the Construction Cost Index (CCI), at 2.38%.

Transportation Mitigation Fee Increase July 1: The Sacramento Transportation Authority (STA) adopted adjusted rates for the Measure A Sacramento Countywide Transportation Mitigation Fee Program. The new fees can be found on the Development Impact & Permit Schedules. 

NOTE:  Building and Engineering fee restructuring went into effect on August 1, 2024, based on a Building and Engineering Fee Study and Analysis adopted by the City Council on May 28, 2024.
