The City of Folsom Fire Department is an all-risk, all-hazards fire department. We staff our fire engines, fire trucks, and ambulances with well-trained firefighter-paramedics to deliver the best-possible advanced life support emergency medical services and emergency response to fires, vehicle accidents, water rescue incidents, hazardous materials incidents, or any other type of response for which we may be called. We also provide outstanding non-emergency services such as public education, fire and life safety inspections, construction plan review, fire investigations, and many other administrative functions. We also have highly-involved Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Citizens Assisting Public Safety (CAPS) volunteer groups.

Six fire stations are strategically located throughout the community to serve the residents, business owners, visitors, and employees in Folsom.

Our fire department’s proud history reaches back to the Gold Rush era. On March 3, 1857, a group of citizens formed the Folsom Hook and Ladder Company to protect the wooden buildings in Old Town Folsom. You can see many of these original buildings in the Historic Folsom District today. We continue the tradition started by the city’s first firefighters to selflessly serve our community.
