The City of Folsom inspects businesses in the city to ensure compliance with city and state fire and life safety regulations. The Fire Prevention Division conducts periodic inspections of schools, hospitals, hotels, multi-family residential buildings, and city businesses.

After the inspection, Folsom Fire Code operational permits will be issued to those businesses in need of a fire permit. Fire hazard complaints, life safety concerns, special events, and hazardous activities are also inspected by the Fire Prevention Division staff.
