About the Exhibition: Oil paintings by Cailin Wailani capturing the effervescent beauty of the Kānaka wahine, Hawaiian women, in a surreal and romantic poetry between paint brush and muses.

About the Exhibition: This body of work presents a series of portraits of Sacramento-area artists and makers created through a combination of platinum/palladium printing and black-and-white inkjet printing. Inspired by the portrait traditions of Irving Penn and Richard Avedon, the project explores photography not only as image-making, but as a tactile printmaking process in which each print becomes a distinct physical interpretation of a negative. Through portraits, the work examines presence, identity, and materiality.
