The Sutter Streetscape project was completed in March 2011 and added over 40 new, on-street parking spaces to the inventory of available parking in the Historic District. Many changes are still in the works for Historic Folsom, and we are still faced with parking challenges.

In Spring 2011, construction commenced on the Historic Folsom Station public plaza improvements, which will permanently eliminate all surface parking in the Railroad Block. It's important that visitors and employees work together to make the best use of parking in Historic Folsom.

The city developed a parking map and accompanying guide to assist motorists to find the best available parking for their needs. To view a parking map that shows the location of all public parking in the Historic District, including any time limits, click on the image below.

We created an information sheet for visitors, customers, employees, and merchants. It includes a few tips and pointers for parking in the Historic District and City of Folsom contact information.

The Active Transportation Master Plan (ATP) combines and updates the master plans for both pedestrian and bicycle facilities in the City of Folsom. It guides the planning, development, and maintenance of existing and future bicycle and pedestrian facilities within the city, including recommended citywide active transportation network improvements and Safe Routes to School.

It was made possible by funding from the SACOG 2019 State of Good Repair Planning and Project Development Grant Funding Program.

Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS), formerly known as audible pedestrian signals, advise pedestrians who are blind, visually impaired or deaf-blind when they have the right-of-way to cross at a signalized intersection and in which direction they may cross the intersection. The City currently has 11 signalized intersections equipped with APS. City staff will install additional APS on a per-request basis.

Virtual Community Meeting

The City of Folsom hosted a Virtual Community Meeting for the US 50/Empire Ranch Road Interchange Project on February 24, 2021. The meeting was hosted virtually via Zoom and was attended by more than100 community members. Participants learned about the project design and environmental planning process, our project team answered their questions. You can view a recording of the meeting below:

Applicants are advised to plan accordingly and allow additional time for any required revisions or resubmittals. Approval within a specific timeframe cannot be guaranteed.
